Many drivers view backup cameras as a handy tool that helps them go in reverse. This is true, but these cameras are much more than that.

Backup camera are tucked into bumpers, trunk lids and other areas. They have wide-angle lenses and are aimed downward to give a more comprehensive image than what you see in the rearview mirror. Images transmitted to your cabin monitor are a mirror image and adjusted so you get an accurate picture. That means, if you need to move to the left because the image shows something on your right, that's the right direction to go. With a regular camera, the image would be reversed, and you might go left when you really needed to go right.

Backup cameras are going more high-tech. Visit Gillman Mitsubishi to check them out and test drive a vehicle with the latest backup camera.
